Zachary Edward Ortel,

31, of Zionsville, passed away unexpectedly on February 27th, 2017.
Our Zach was a uniquely beautiful soul. His genuine heart was evident in the way he deeply loved and cared for his mother, sisters, family, friends and his beloved dog, Bob. As a child and man, he lit up a room with his infectious smile and contagious laughter. As the man of the house, at many times, he made it his mission to look after and protect his mother and sisters. He had an avid love of disc golf, gaming, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Indianapolis Colts. His warm and welcoming spirit made him a friend to many. He captivated the hearts of all children, animals and people he met. He will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him deeply and missed by everyone.
Zach is survived by his mother, Wendy Ortel; father, Daniel Ortel; sisters, Tara Ortel and Taylor Edson; grandmothers, Audrey Ortel and Helen Jensen; Aunt Kari; Uncle Mark, and several cousins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 6th, 2017 from 4-6pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple with a memorial service starting at 6pm.
