Wilson A. Burns, 77 of Avon, passed away on December 7, 2018. He was born on January 25, 1941 in Kokomo to the late Max and Juanita Burns.
Wilson was a graduate of Kokomo High School and Purdue University. He retired from Allison Gas Turbine as Executive Vice President of Operations in 1995 and was a 32nd Degree Master Mason within the Scottish Rite and the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge. He was a longtime little league coach of the Northwest Caps. He loved football, collecting coins, playing poker, and horse racing. Wilson’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Wilson was preceded in passing by his parents, Max and Juanita Burns; and his son, Robert Max Burns.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Burns; his children, Kelly L. Burns, Richard M. (Elizabeth) Burns, Michelle L. (Michael) Moore, and step-daughter, Lisa K. Young; his grandchildren, Michael W. Burns, Robert K. Burns, Abigail L. Burns, Samuel A. R. Moore, and Max C. R. Moore; and his sisters, Sharon S. (Jerry) Weisenauer and Mina L. Burns.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 10AM-1PM, with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at Brownsburg Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
