Wilma Jean Mcatee

Wilma Jean McAtee, 92 of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

She was born on July 8, 1927 in Davis County, IN to the late Herman F. and Helen C. (Thompson) Hagerty.  Wilma married the love of her life, James Earl McAtee on April 21, 1951; they celebrated 57 years of marriage before his death in 2008.  James and Wilma were longtime members of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church and were proud to raise their large family within the faith as well.  Although Wilma enjoyed puzzles and playing cards, she was most fulfilled by being a wife and mother.  She loved her family and devoted her entire life to their care.

Wilma is survived by her children, Pam Hoskins (Mark), Janice Scully (Tom), Dennis McAtee (Cathy), Mary Jean Denk (Tim); and daughter-in-law, Tammy McAtee.  She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Erin, Peter, Jessica, Allison, Michael, Jennifer, Jonathan, Katelynn, Sarah, Laura; and 2 great-grandchildren, Thomas and Matilda.  Wilma also leaves behind her sister, Connie (Glenn); and brother, Rick.  She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and an infant son; along with sons, Jeffery and Michael McAtee. Wilma was also preceded in death by her siblings, Francis Earl, Bernard, Lon, Dottie, Janice Kay, Betty Lou and Robert.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 5-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park.  A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 10am at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Sisters of St. Francis, PO Box 100 Oldenburg, IN 47036.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
