Wilma Ruth Hill, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2024, in Brownsburg, Indiana, at the age of 99. Born on October 10, 1925, in Washington, Indiana, Wilma’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and unwavering faith.
A proud graduate of Short Ridge High School in Indianapolis, Wilma embarked on a successful career, retiring from American States Insurance after many years of dedicated service. Her bubbly personality and generous spirit left an indelible mark on the lives she touched, making her a beloved figure in her community. A devout member of Crossroads Church in Avon, Indiana, Wilma's strong faith guided her through life’s trials, providing her with the strength and clarity that inspired those around her.
Wilma's family remember her as a loving and nurturing presence. She is survived by her two sons, David M. Hill and William S. Hill; her grandson, Nigel Hill; and her cherished nieces and nephews: Judy Chambers, George Hatcher, Lois Hatcher, and Samael Hatcher Jr. Each of them holds precious memories of time spent with her, memories filled with laughter, love, and invaluable lessons about life and faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George H. Walker and Eldena Walker, and her sister, Virginia L. Hatcher. The loss of her husband Harold Hill and niece Mary McCullough also left a profound impact on her life, as she cherished family ties with great reverence.
The legacy of Wilma Ruth Hill lives on through the countless lives she enriched with her kindness and positivity. The visitation will take place on December 21, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM at Speedway, located at 2950 N High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM the same day, culminating in a final resting place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Though her physical presence may be gone, Wilma's beautiful spirit, uplifting love, and unwavering faith will forever radiate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come.
