William Trimble Habig was born on September 16, 1944, to Nancy and Frank J. Habig, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN.
Bill was graduated from DePauw University with a degree in Botany and Bacteriology; and while in college was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bill received his master's degree in health administration from IUPUI School of Medicine. He had a distinguished career in Healthcare Administration from his first post with Marion County General Hospital (now Eskenazi Health), Associate Administrator of St. Vincent Hospital, Administrator of New Hope, and finally his own consulting firm, Windrush Enterprises, Inc.
Bill lived a life of service to his community by serving on the Zionsville School Board for many years, and by being a Deacon and serving Elder at Second Presbyterian Church. Bill was currently attending Life Church in Elwood, IN. Bill loved his motorcycle, his MGs and his first Camero. He loved his children, Windrush Farm, Pawleys Island, SC, history, antiquing and The New York Times Crossword Puzzle.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, March 22 at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, Prairie Waters, where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cole Habig. In addition, Bill is survived by his former wife, Lynne Steinhour Habig, and their children, Suzannah Risser (Jeff), Elizabeth McFarlane (Michael), granddaughters, Michaela Barnett (Daniel), and Catherine Meyer; siblings, Ann Sawyer (James), Joan Detmer (Sam), Robert Habig (Elaine), Lynn Habig (R.D.Hale), Stephen Habig, Frank J. “Chip” Habig III (April), Richard Habig (Debbie).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Church Benevolent Fund.
