Willie Louis Wells Sr.

Willie Louis Wells, Sr., son of the late Frank Wells Sr and Virgie Mary Wells, departed this life on December 11, 2021 at his home at the age of 88 years old.

Bro Wells was born on October 8, 1933 in a small town in Logan County Ky called Oakville.  His family later moved to Russellville Ky where he was raised.  Bro Wells was a product of the Russellville Ky school system before moving to Indianapolis In, in the late 1950’s completing his studies at night school at Crispus Attucks.

Bro Wells accepted JESUS CHRIST at a young age and became a baptized member of the 25^th Street Baptist in 1972 where he worshipped until his death.  He was a deacon usher and on the Board of Trustees at the Church.  He loved his church and had a passion for people to know JESUS CHRIST as their personal Savior.  He would tell everyone he met about the Word of God no matter where he went.  He also loved kids.  He was always giving something to the kids in his neighborhood and the affectionally called him Mr. Willie.

Bro Wells worked as a Union Representative for United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) for over 40 years. He would go out and strike on the picket line with the workers to let them know he was fighting for them.  He also worked at other jobs before being employed with the union.  Bro Wells was a plumber by trade.

Bro Wells is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Wells, Sr and Virgie Mary Wells, brothers, George, James, Frank Jr, Thomas Bradley, Wesley, Robert, Vernon and Elijah and four sisters, Ada, Nellie Pearl, Rebecca and Emma Mae and daughter Brenda.

He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Mary Inez Carver (LaMark), Willie Wells, Jr (Sharon) and Chris Wells and brother Roy Wells (Karen).  Bro Wells has 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
