Willie Arthur Bush, Jr.

Willie Arthur Bush, Jr., 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Indiana University Hospital.

Willie was born June 16, 1943 in Bartow, Florida, to the late Willie Arthur Bush, Sr. And Lois Mitchell Bush.

Willie received his high school diploma from Union Academy in 1961; he continued his education at Morris Brown College graduation in 1965 with a Bachelor's of Art degree in political science. He later earned a Master in Business Administration from Howard University in 1971.

He was employed by the Chrysler Corporation for 41 years. His last position was Director of Human Resources at the Kokomo facility.

Willie met Mary Davis, the love of his life, and they were married on September 2, 1967. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past September. He was a loving and committed father to three daughters, Dana, Jennifer, and Jocelyn who are all accomplished physicians like their mother. He was also the proud "pawpaw" to five grandchildren.

Community involvements include National Coalition of 100 Black Men, Center for Leadership Development, Alpha Phi Fraternity INC, V-11, Union Academy Alumni, and a faithful member of Traders Point Christian Church.

People who knew Willie are keenly aware of his dedication to the support of academics excellence. Some of his contribution recipients include Traders Point Christian Academy and the Union Academy Scholarship Foundation.

Willie was also an avid sports fan, supporting the University of Michigan football and basketball teams. He also acquired an appreciation for soccer as his grandchildren were actively involved in the Off The Wall Soccer League Association.

Willie Arthur Bush, Jr. Leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Dr. Mary Bush; three daughters: Dana Bush of Charlotte, N.C., Jennifer Bush Walbridge (Timothy), and Jocelyn Bush Senat (Mark Anthony), both of Indianapolis; five grandchildren: Rowen, Ruari, and Xavier Walbridge, and Maximellien and Amelie Senat; one brother: Marshall L. Bush (Jackie); two sisters: Rhonda Bush Kelly (Jeff), and Valerie Bush Dollison (Clifton), all from Florida; one aunt: the Matriarch of the Mitchell family, Vernell Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation for Willie will take place on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46229. A Homegoing Service will be on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:30am at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 S.
