Williamina Carson

Williamina (McQueen) Carson 81, Indianapolis, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on January 15, 2019. Ina was a beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend… most of us will just say she was our Nanny.

She was born in Motherwell, Scotland on May 27, 1937 the daughter of Alexander and Margaret (Rodger) McQueen. She married James Carson II on Dec. 6, 1957. On March 27, 1968, Ina marched her five children onto a plane and headed to the United States to reunite with her husband and start their new life together. On Tuesday, she took her last breath and began her journey to once again reunite with James, this time in heaven.

Ina had an amazing sense of humor. She had a huge giving and caring heart. She lived each day to the fullest and dedicated her life to her family. Ina loved to cook for her family and was often found dancing a little jig in the kitchen.

Survivors:  Children, Margaret Scholl, James (Michelle) Carson III, Thomas (Paige) Carson and Sheila Carson; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, one son Alexander Carson and his daughter Taylor Carson, and her grandson Tristan Carson.

So, for now we know you are in a better resting place.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The family will then gather following the service for a private burial at Washington Park East Cemetery.
