William Edward Rall II

William “Bill” Edward Rall II, age 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2025.

Bill was born on June 14, 1948, in New York, New York, the son of William Edward Rall and Constance “Connie” (Anzelde) Rall. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Eleanor Rall.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Andrea Rall of Indianapolis, whom he married on August 8, 1993. He is also survived by his two children, Chris Rall of Bloomington, Indiana, and Jessica Rall of Brooklyn, New York, and their mother, Ann Dial, of Bloomington. Additionally, Bill leaves behind his sister, Linda (and husband Willie) Kincaid of Las Vegas, Nevada, his grandchild, Pluto Rall of Bloomington, Indiana, and his nephew, Drew Heilmann, of Evansville, Indiana.

Bill was a lifelong entrepreneur with an unshakable work ethic and a passion for building something of his own. He poured his heart into the restaurant industry, where his love for food and hospitality shone through. Cooking wasn’t just his livelihood; it was a way he showed love to family and friends, always eager to bring people together over a good meal. 

Beyond his career, Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed sports, fishing, and music, and always sought out occasions and experiences to share with his loved ones.

Above all, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a man of warmth, humor, and strength, who had a sharp wit, a big heart, and an ability to make others feel at ease. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his memory and share in the stories that made Bill such a special presence in their lives. There will be a military honors service at 4:00 PM.
