William L. -Bill- Jamison

November 9, 1928 — June 5, 2017

William L. “Bill” Jamison

88, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 5. He was born November 9, 1928 in New Albany, IN to his late mother, Elsie Fetter.

Bill had a long and successful career with Thermoset Plastics of Indianapolis where he was co-founder, vice-president, and technical director. He was granted numerous US patents including a job-related formula and a tabletop family game. He was an avid golfer and former member of Old Oakland Golf Club.

After graduating from New Albany High School in 1945, he served in the US Army from 1954 to 1962. St. Mary’s, his grade school in New Albany, remained important to him throughout his life and he proudly attended many of his class reunions.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Rita (Hill) Jamison, three daughters: Susan (Bob) Rothgeb, Julie (Jeff) Crusenberry of Beavercreek, Ohio, Elizabeth (David) Curtis of Fishers, IN; and three sons: Michael Hackett, Tom (Connie) Hackett of Indianapolis, and William (Lisa) Jamison, Jr. of Fishers. Also surviving is a sister, Jean (Frank) Miller of New Albany. His loving family also includes grandchildren, Mackey, Ryan, Kasee, Valerie, Stephanie, Scott, Katy, Andrew, Jamie, Sam, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Our dad has always been a kid at heart, his favorite days of each year being Christmas Eve and 4th of July family celebrations. While his jokes may have been corny, they were always well-placed and could get everybody laughing.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 9 in The Conner Suite at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service officiated by Father Paul Peterson, S.J., a childhood friend of Bill’s.
