Deacon William Harris

April 20, 1929 — March 10, 2024

WILLIAM HARRIS, son of the late Bill and Lizzie Harris was born on April 20,1929 in Toney, Alabama. He was united in holy matrimony to Mattie Bea Murray in 1947. This union was blessed with 10 children. Mr. Harris was a dedicated Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of New Day Pentecostal in 1964 and moved his membership to Victory Tabernacle under Bishop Harris. He was also a hard worker with employment as a meat packer at Highgrade and later a sanitation driver for the city of Indianapolis. He then retired in 2002.

He is survived by his 10 children: Bishop William Harris (First Lady Linda Harris); Gloria L Bush (John Bush); Wayman Harris (Bernella Harris); Gwendolyn Wadlington (Wallace Wadlington); Wade Harris (Debbie Harris); Sherry Ford (Michael Ford); Rosetta Jefferson; Bonita McClure (Danny McClure); Willford Harris (Tina Harris); and Maretha Barnes.

Along with his 10 children, William is also survived by 87 grand, great-grand and great great grandchildren in all.
