William Darrell Davis

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bill Davis on Sunday, November 19th. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bill left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.

Born in Southern Illinois, Bill spent his formative years in Hammond and Valparaiso, Indiana, before settling in Carmel, Indiana, where he lived for the last 30 years. He dedicated much of his professional life to the mortgage industry and was respected for his leadership, expertise and integrity.

Bill was an avid golfer and a passionate music lover, with a particular fondness for the Beatles. He also maintained a zest for life through his active pursuits including running, cycling, fishing, boating, and camping. He loved watching football and basketball and on any given Sunday you would find him watching his beloved Colts or rooting for the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team.  His love for these activities was only surpassed by his love for spending time with his family.

Above all, Bill was passionate about serving others. He dedicated much of his time volunteering with Rebuilding Together Indianapolis, an organization committed to building homes for those in need. His generosity and selflessness were hallmarks of his character.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his devoted children, Chris (Amy) and Sara (Shaun), and his adored grandchildren, Riley, Jacob, and Caden. Bill was not just the patriarch of our family but a provider, supporter, and protector. His willingness to help and his reliable presence were the cornerstones of our family.

Bill was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rebuilding Together Indianapolis.

A celebration of his life will be held at Flanner Buchanan (325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel Indiana 46032) on Monday, November 27th from 4-7pm and Funeral Service at Cornerstone Lutheran Church (4850 E Main St, Carmel, IN 46033) on Tuesday, November 28th at 11am.
