William Buschuk

October 11, 1951 — November 1, 2017

William “Bill” M. Buschuk, 66, Carmel, passed away November 1, 2017. He was born October 11, 1951, in Gary, the son of the late William and Maren (Eryman) Buschuk. He married Sheri L. (Schultz) Buschuk on August 24, 1974.

Bill was a graduate of Portage High School, where he lettered in football. His love for football continued as he played for the Shine-On-In and The Mug semi-pro teams. He enjoyed music, camping, and exploring the outdoors; but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. His children were fortunate to have him on the sidelines coaching and training their soccer teams growing up. He retired from IBEW local #481, and was previously employed with U.S. Steel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sheri L. Buschuk; three children, Brooke Buschuk, Brian (Amanda) Buschuk, and Bridget (John) Covington; two grandchildren, Peyton and Isabelle; two sisters, Joyce (Garrett) Jones and Barbara (Chuck) Fordyce; mother-in-law, Nola Schultz; and five brothers-in-law, Scott (Annie) Schultz, Stuart (Sheila) Schultz, Skipp (Wendy) Schultz, Shaun (Susan) Schultz, and Shad (Stacy) Schultz. He is also survived by his beloved dogs; Halle, Oscar, and Shiner. He was preceded in passing by his mother, father, and father-in-law, Darrel Schultz.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
