William Allen Beinart (1957 – 2025)

William Allen Beinart, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2025.

Bill was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, on July 8, 1957, to Harry and Ila (Brown) Beinart. He was the youngest of three children. After the family relocated to Indiana, Bill graduated from Richmond High School. He then pursued his passion for architecture, earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University in 1980.

After graduation, Bill gained experience as a project architect in private firms before becoming a licensed architect on September 27, 1984. In 1986, he transitioned to the State of Indiana, where he spent the majority of his career improving Indiana's prison facilities through his work with the Department of Corrections.

Bill had many passions outside of his career. A true lover of the night sky, he enjoyed observing stars and planets from his cherished “Sky Glow Observatory.” His deep affection for dogs was evident, especially in his bond with his devoted Border Collie, Luna, and the many pets he adored over the years, including Penny, Noorvik, Gangus, Anne, and Ellie. His saltwater aquarium was another source of pride and joy, and his biting humor could bring laughter to any room.

A lifelong learner, Bill was always exploring new technologies and staying up to date on the latest advancements. His mechanical aptitude allowed him to fix almost anything, a skill he generously shared with his children and friends. He had a creative side as well, expressing himself through drawing, painting, and photography. Recently, he took great joy in exploring the world of 3D printing.

In addition to his love of creativity, Bill had a range of interests that included chess, backgammon, bicycle racing, model airplanes, videography, and video/computer games. His talent in art and technology left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Bill is survived by his three children, Jennifer, Steven, and Christopher, who will forever cherish the lessons he imparted and the memories they made together. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jessica, and grandchildren Payton and Darcy, along with nieces and nephews Christine, Charlie, Katrina, David, and Kari.

He was predeceased by his beloved Grandma Cleo and Grandpa Art, his parents, his sister Kathy Jewell of Ohio, and his brother Walter of Alabama.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46228.
