Wayne Wiley West

January 24, 1962 — August 25, 2024

Indianapolis

Wayne Wiley West, 62, left this world too soon, on August 25th, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, January 24th, 1962, to parents Robert West and LaVonne Berman.

Wayne grew up in Indy and graduated from Triton High School. He continued his education, receiving the certification of Master Mechanic.

Wayne was a mechanic since birth, and he built his first engine at 13 years old. There was absolutely nothing he couldn’t fix. A gearhead and genius extraordinaire, Wayne was truly gifted at all things mechanical.

Wayne was a strong, loving man, with a great sense of humor. He was a thrill seeker, and sought out the tallest, fastest roller coaster he could find—and that’s how he rode his motorcycle too! He loved to cruise on his motorcycle, especially road trips out west. He was always looking for the wildest route to take. Wayne was very generous, with a huge heart, and was always eager to help people. He loved his family and took being a grandpa very seriously.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Olivia Blackwell (The Late Andrew); grandson Blythe Blackwell; and siblings Vanessa West, Lana West, Donna Wilke (Brian), and Jason Atkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son-in -law Andrew Blackwell.
