Wanda Faye Bowling

Wanda Faye Bowling 80, of Indianapolis, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2022. She was born in Blackey, Kentucky on February 27, 1942, to the late Verlon and Pauline (Dixon) Shepherd. First and foremost, she was a born again Christian and a follower of Christ, the eldest member of 50 years, of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. Wanda loved her family and enjoyed being with them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, visiting with friends, going for rides in the country exploring and inevitably finding a Goodwill Store to shop at. Wanda took great pride in looking her best and seeing also that her loving husband looked his best before going out anywhere. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed dancing with her husband in years past and was known to be a bit sneaky when it came to eating her sweets, cookies, and candy for breakfast, that she enjoyed so much. She was dearly loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Wanda is survived by her beloved husband of 61 wonderful years, Truman Bowling, her daughters, Shari (Robert) Morgan, Shelia (Marshall) Bowling Moore, Lydia (Carl) Wise, grandchildren, Dawnielle (Daniel), Nikki (John), Chelsie (Mark), Cody, Dana, Timmy “Bam Bam”, extended grandchildren, great grandchildren, Cailin (Malaki) , Kamren, Lily, Alex, Bentley, Grayson , brothers, Clyde (Beulah) Shepherd, Phillip (Bev) Shepherd, her sister, Wilma Jean (Don) Smith, and a host of extended family, and friends, who adored her. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Ray and James Shepherd. Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with visitation there from 12:00-2:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
