Virginia Mae (Lorenz) O’Connor,
83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away August 5, 2017. Virginia was born in Aurora, Illinois on April 4, 1934 to the late William and Lucille Lorenz.
She retired from Henry P. Thompson Co. in 1996 and enjoyed a lengthy retirement. She was a great listener, loved people and travel and was an avid Euchre player.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, James M. O’Connor III. She is survived by her children: Patricia (Michael) Bates, Nancy (Mike) Ochoa, Linda (Roger) Wingfield, Karen (Steve) Forshee, Mary Hedrick, Becky (Steve) Hawkins, and James (Nicole) O’Connor IV; grandchildren: Colleen Bates, Shelby Bates, Justin (Catherine) Ochoa, Jesse Ochoa, Adrian Ochoa, Matt Wingfield, Brad (Marybeth) Wingfield, Angela Forshee, Evan Forshee, Christian Hedrick, Jennifer Hedrick, Matthew Hawkins, Aaron Hawkins, James “Jimmy” O’Connor V, Daniella O’Connor, Anna O’Connor, Sophia O’Connor, and Nicholas O’Connor; great-grandchildren: Peyton Wingfield, Grace Wingfield, Landon Wingfield, Sadie Wingfield, Julian Ochoa, Mason Ochoa, and Braxton Wingfield; fifty-two nieces and nephews; and her sibling, Sister Marlita Lorenz, Sisters of St. Francis.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis.
