Virginia Mae ” Jenny” Blankenship, Age 70 of Monrovia, passed away December 8, 2017. She was born May 27, 1947 in Indianapolis to Floyd R. and Della M. Atha. She graduated from Gosport High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She retired from the Indiana Department of Revenue in 1999 as a Controller. She enjoyed volunteering at the Monrovia Community Center. She was a very giving person who loved doing for others. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, movies and going to dinner.
Jenny is preceded in death by her father, her husband, Jessie J. Blankenship, Jr., her brother, Rob Atha and sisters, Marolyn Atha and Cheryl Atha. Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Della Mae Hollin, her children, Kelly (John) Townsend Rupp, Louwanna (Steve) Jackson, Teresa Blankenship and James (Doris) Blankenship. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, James Atha, Butch Atha, Dave Atha, Steve Atha, Rick Atha, Carolyn Blair, Pamela Skinner, Terry Atha, Jeff Atha and Melody Atha, as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
