Virginia Lee Kiehl Obituary
Virginia Lee Kiehl, 85, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2025, surrounded by family at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, IN.
She was born on December 31st, 1939, in Williamsport, PA, the only child to parents, Lester and Rebecca Springman. Virginia graduated Muncie High school in 1957. On June 21st, 1958, she married the love of her life, Arlow Kenneth Kiehl, from Montoursville, PA. She spent most of her life working on the family horse farm with her husband, she loved field-work, baling hay, and taking care of the horses. She enjoyed spending time with her mother who lived on their property and took care of the garden.
Virginia was dedicated to her Lord and Saviour, she was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved attending her Monday Morning Crew and serving others in the church body. Virginia, affectionately known by her friends as Ginny and Pennsylvania family as Ginger was known for her love of horses, family, and all sports, but especially the New York Yankees. Her son, Clint, owes her $20 for winning the family NCAA March Madness Bracket Challenge. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading Christian Novels and was the church librarian. After the passing of her husband she found joy in traveling and spending time with her family. In the last two years she was able to zipline, go on an Alaskan cruise, spend a few months in Yuma with her son, and vacation in Pigeon Forge. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Arlow on March 18th, 2023.
Virginia is survived by her son Curtis (Geralyn) Kiehl of Cheyenne, WY; her daughter Christine (Gregg) Tefft of Watertown, NY; her son Clinton (Brandi) Kiehl of Fishers, IN. She also has 14 grandchildren: Jenifer, Jackie, Brittany, Brandon, Logan, Nick, Ashton, Faith, Trinity, Sawyer, Avery, Fallyn, Jillian, and Griffin; 13 great grandchildren (a 14th is due in May): Lane, Skylar, CJ, Isaac, Josh, Delayna, Dayton, Deegan, Dawson, McCoy, Josie, Greyson, and Thatcher; and one great-great granddaughter: Oran.
A celebration of life for Virginia will be held in June at New Hope Baptist Church in Watertown, NY.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to charities of choice.
