Virginia Lee Johnson

Virginia Lee Johnson passed away on September 4, 2024, at 95 years of age. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 25, 1929, to the late Charles M. and Jessie I. (Keller) Larrison. Virginia married her high school sweetheart William Dunn Johnson on May 20, 1947, and had four children. The family lived a close-knit life in Mars Hill full of joy and love and were a magnet to extended family and friends who shared the good times with them like family. Virginia worked in the Quality Control Department for the RCA Record Company and served as a Pharmacy Technician for Kmart and Marsh Supermarkets. She was a graduate of Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was a Contributor and Illustrator for the first edition of what is now their yearbook. Virginia enjoyed many things, dancing for one and had been an Instructor for Arthur Murray School of Dance. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. 

Virginia is survived by her children: M. Pete (Leslie) Johnson, Gary (Beverly) Johnson, Rita (Gerald) Hurm, Judith Johnson; her siblings: Alice Baker, Ed (Donna) Larrison; her grandchildren: M. Pete II (Dawn) Johnson, Reed Johnson, C. Bart Johnson, J. Kyle Beimfohr, Amanda (Kyle) Castor, Travis Johnson, Kathleen (Josh) Hall, Virginia (Shawn) Poindexter, Joslyn (Terry) Sullivan, Jillian Hurm, William (Sarah) Wolfred, Wendy (Jamie) Mehringer; and her great grandchildren: Austin Johnson, Samantha Kane, Zak Kane, Wm. Malachi Johnson, Steven Johnson, Jaden Johnson, Samuel Castor, Bryce (Hannah) Poindexter, Brett Poindexter, Lukas Sullivan, Lillianna Sullivan, Keegan Grubbs, Kendyl Grubbs, Colby Johnson, Huck Johnson, Bronx Hall, Brody Hall, Emma Wolfred, Clare Mehringer, Hank Mehringer. 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her siblings: Kathryn Beasley, Kenneth Larrison, and Linda Larrison; and two great grandchildren: Jacob Johnson, Joseph Johnson.

There will be a Memorial Gathering, Thursday, September 19, 2024, 11:00am-1:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with the Memorial Service immediately following at 1:00pm. Pastor John Dunaway will be officiating the service. Virginia will be laid to rest in a Private Service at Floral Park Cemetery.
