Virginia (Jenny) L. Sullivan

March 17, 1929 — May 3, 2018

Indianapolis, Indiana

Virginia (Jenny) L. Sullivan, 89 of Indianapolis, passed peacefully on May 3, 2018. She was born on March 17, 1929 in Clinton Missouri to her late mother, Viola M. Stickland.

Virginia spent a life with her late husband of 57 years, John L. Sullivan Jr., who preceded her in passing; along with their son, Mark D. Sullivan. Together, they enjoyed their retirement by volunteering at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and service at the American Legion Post 500, where John once served as Commander. She also enjoyed finding treasures at flea markets, gardening, and displaying her affection for elephants with her collection of figurines.

Virginia’s love for animals didn’t stop with an admiration of elephants, she shared years of her life with many other companions such as dogs, cat, and even chickens that provided fresh eggs. A couple of the dogs will always have a special place in her heart, Laddie and Boomer.

Virginia is remembered as a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother to her surviving family; her daughter, Sharon Sullivan; grandchildren, Stephanie Torres and Shane McDonald Sr.; and great-grandchildren, Emma Torres, Aiden Zigler, and Shane McDonald Jr.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 1-1:30PM, with the service immediately following at 1:30PM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
