Virginia L. Hurt

Virginia L. Hurt, 88, of Camby, IN passed away peacefully at her home on October 29, 2024. She was born November 4, 1935, to parents Julius and Ella Pickett in Dunlap, TN. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a 50+ year member of the Moose 500 and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Virginia retired from Uniroyal after 21 years of service, and she enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her devoted daughters Patricia Manuel of Camby, IN and Karen (Rick) Stryhn of Beloit, WI; six adoring grandchildren, Lester (Lexas) Duncan, Carl Elam-Bishop, Gary (Genesis) Bishop, Steven (Christina) Elam-Bishop, John (Jennifer) Norris and Jennifer Bishop; and several great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Hurt, her daughter Barbara Bishop, her brothers Kenneth Pickett and Carl Pickett and a great-grandson Carter Bishop.

A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10 am at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46222. Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park.
