Virginia L. Coop, 87, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her family, left this world on September 9, 2024, in Fortville, Indiana. Born on August 19, 1937, in Fountaintown, Indiana, Virginia lived a life full of warmth, care and devotion to her loved ones. She was a simple, loving, and caring soul who dedicated herself to being a nurturing homemaker.
Virginia had a remarkable talent for bringing comfort through her cooking, with many fond memories revolving around her mean fried chicken and fried potatoes. Her home was a haven of delicious aromas and heartfelt gatherings, where family and friends alike could relish the love in every meal she prepared. As a gardener and crocheter, Virginia took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, and her passions reflected her nurturing spirit.
Virginia attended Arsenal Tech High School, Virginia’s journey through life was marked by a sense of fulfillment in her role as a grandmother. She was born to be a grandma and a GG, and this title brought her immense joy. Her legacy as a loving grandmother extended through her 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom was a bright light in her life.
Virginia's life was shaped by the love and support of her family, including her daughters Vickie (Don) Harper and Deb (Steve) Wurster. They, along with her 8 grandkids, 11 great grandkids and 1 great-great grandchild, will carry forward her memory with love and gratitude.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilbur Coop, and her parents, Nobel and Elise Willard, who undoubtedly instilled in her the kindness and compassion that defined her life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place on September 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service that will commence at 1:00 PM, both held at Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
Virginia L. Coop will forever be remembered for her loving spirit, culinary skills, and the profound impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life richly lived.
