Vincent Paul Pace, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away August 13, 2017. He was born in Indianapolis on October 9, 1937 to the late Willard and Edith (Dotson) Pace. He attended Central Catholic High School in Vincennes and then, joined the U.S. Navy. He worked for Sechrest Roofing for a number of years, then joined the family business, A1 Cedar Shake, before retiring in 2006. By trade, Paul was a roofer, but his heart truly belonged to his family.
Paul was a family man through and through. He adored his son and daughter, spent time with his siblings as much as he could, and looked forward to their yearly Labor Day weekend reunions in Vincennes. In the summer, Paul spent half of his week with his brother, Phil, playing golf; and in the winter, their ritual was poker. Paul played golf for many years at Walnut Ridge and Good Ol’ Boys. He also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes and playing softball in Decatur and West Newton.
Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith (Case) Pace and his parents.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his son and daughter, Mike Pace and Tonya Roseann Pace; brothers, John “Jay” (the late Janet) Pace, Everett Pace, Phil (the late Caroline) Pace, and Frankie (Jeannie) Pace; sisters, JoAnn (the late Pat) Clark and Barbara (Neil) Barton; and lots of loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan –Decatur, 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Online condolences may be made to www.flannerbuchanan.com.
