Vida M. -Vi- Sharp

Vida M. “Vi” Sharp, 79 of Carmel, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. Vi was born January 30, 1938 in Batesville, IN to the late Ray and Eunice (Wolf) Fledderman. She graduated from the Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception in 1956. Vi worked as a realtor for 35 years for RE/MAX Ability Plus, F.C. Tucker Company and Chapman Realty before retiring in 2006. She was a Certified Residential Specialist.

Vi was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church and the Sunrise Golf Women’s League. She had a passion for gardening, golf, bridge and canasta. She was devoted to her friends and greatly enjoyed their company. Walden Pond was her home for many years and she was actively involved in the neighborhood.

Vi deeply cherished her immediate and extended family. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She treasured family time and provided unconditional love, support and a positive attitude. Her courage and perseverance during her extended battle with pulmonary fibrosis earned the admiration and respect of everyone she crossed paths with.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, September 28. A 9:30 am visitation will be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 am Friday, September 29 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. There will be a 3:00 pm graveside service Friday, September 29 at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Batesville, IN.

Vi is survived by her three children, Kim (husband, Mike) Hoffmaster, Kelley (husband, Rick) Light and Mike (wife, Michele) Sharp; grandchildren, Amanda Hawkins, Alex Hoffmaster, Chelsea Hoffmaster, Michael Hoffmaster, Courtney Salazar, Rick Light, John Light, Bryce Sharp, Garrett Sharp and Marissa Sharp; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Ertel and Susie Bonelli; brother, Ron Fledderman.
