Vernon R. "Vern" Thompson

Vernon R. “Vern” Thompson, 85 of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Vern was born June 13, 1939 in Huston County, TN to the late Vonley and Nettie Thompson. Vern was a life-long commercial semi driver for over 55 years. He was proud to log over 2 million miles of accident free driving. Vern retired in 2014 from Ryder Logistics.

 Vern was a member of Radiant Christian Life Church, Westfield, the Hinkle Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.

 Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 11 at Radiant Christian Life Church. Following the gathering, funeral services will begin at 1:30.

 Vern is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon; children, Ginger S. Dierdorf, Dan (wife, Edie) Thompson, Mark (wife, Karen) Thompson, Tony (wife, Misti) Tracy, Troy (wife, Kirsten) Tracy and Tami (husband, Tom) Cline; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Agnes Burnett, Evelyn Bowman and Doris Morris and half-sisters, Betty, Darlene and Nancy Thompson.
