Vernon Emil Lange

Vernon Emil Lange of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was born November 11, 1932, in Vergas, MN to the late Emil and Agnes (Hendrickson) Lange.

Vernon (Bud) was preceded in death by his son, Mark V. Lange and sister Patricia Lange Kertscher. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sona Gardner Lange, his daughter, Linda Lange Kennedy, son in law, Timothy Kennedy, and grandchildren Michael Lange, Ryan Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy, Molly Kennedy, Matthew King, and Kendra Lange.

Vernon was a veteran of the Air Force and spent the majority of his professional career with Cincinnati Insurance Company. During his lifetime he was an avid runner, having completed over 50 marathons, including the Boston Marathon. He was passionate about history and nature and his extensive book collection on those subjects. He was a man that loved his family, friends and animals and he could always be counted on for a story or a laugh.

Vernon will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
