Verjean “Jeannie” Short (Miller), age 89, passed away on July 10, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jeannie was born September 3, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Arthur and Leoma (Gregory) Miller.

She attended Arsenal Technical High School, worked at Western Electric, and retired from the accounting department of Indiana Insurance Company.

She enjoyed trips to Vegas with her husband, classic movies, and playing card games and bingo. She was well known for her sweet and loving disposition and ready sense of humor. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bryan E. Short, a retired Indianapolis Firefighter.

She is survived by her loving family- children: Michael Crawley, Susan (Bob) Gilson, Mark (Lynette) Short; granddaughters: Susan (Chris) Messer, Rebecca Short; and great grandson, Daxton Messer.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 4:30-7:00pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10am, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Survive Alive, 748 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
