Veris Jestine Sammons

Veris Jestine (McClain) Williams-Sammons, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 29, 2019. She was born to Millard Filmore McClain and Mary Elizabeth (Ramage) McClain in Salem, West Virginia on October 11, 1932. Veris was a beloved wife, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She proudly owned and operated First Choice Video in Kenton, Ohio. She also took pride in assisting with the family business Williams Bros Appliances. Her greatest joy was visiting family and taking the grandkids to roam the hills of West Virginia.

Veris is survived by her husband, James Arthur Sammons “Sam”; son Garry Williams (Jane Bisher); siblings, Dean McClain and Hugh McClain (Janice); grandchildren, Kate Holden, Kristen Williams, Nicholas Williams, Kelly Slopsema, Lindsey Williams, and Cassie Williams; great-grandchildren, Chance, Sophia, Corben, Owen, Miles, Kathleen, Everly, and Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Mary McClain; first husband, John Williams; her children, Jerry Williams (Diana), Larry Williams (Dana), and Karen Williams; daughter-in-law, Kathy Pease Williams; and siblings Connie Sines (Don) ,Willard McClain (Velma), Roger McClain.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 10AM-12PM(noon) with a service starting at noon, at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park 425 N. Holt Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.
