Veola Brown Hoover
92, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018.
She was born on February 13, 1926 in Sumner County, Tennessee to Shirley and Annie Laurel Brown. Veola went to school and spent her youth there then worked in Gallatin, Tennessee at the shoe factory for seven years. She moved to Indianapolis in 1951 and began working for Western Electric, where she remained working for ten years.
Veola married Charles Hoover on December 18, 1959 and remained happily married to him for 48 years. Veola had three children; daughter, Teresa, and sons, Warren and Howard.
Veola was a member of University Heights Christian Church. She loved flowers and would often make creative arrangements for friends, family, and Crestwood Retirement Community.
Veola was preceded in death by: her parents, Shirley and Annie Brown; her loving husband Charles; daughter, Teresa Fortner; sisters, Erlene Pitts and Lois Rogers; brothers, Edsel and Herbert Brown.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her sons, Warren (Sophie) and Howard (Anna) Hoover; grandchildren, Darren (Nikki), Karen, Mark (Amanda), and Kevin (Jenni); siblings, Charles Brown and Wanda Ausbrooks; great-granddaughter, Rose Fortner; and beloved nieces, Debbie Harker and Sheila Woodward.
