Valarie Faye Carter

Valarie Faye Carter of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on December 6, 2021 at the age of 62. 

She was born September 13, 1959 in Indianapolis to Karl Zdenek and Carla Jane Hearn. 

Valarie worked with her children at Aadvanced Limousines. She quickly became the “house mom” facing every task with confidence and doing her best to care for everyone. Her true passion was with any type of animal. She helped the stray animals in her local community and donated to shelters as much as she could. If there was an animal in need, Valarie was sure to take care of it or get it to the proper place. 

When she wasn’t working or caring for animals, you could find her in the garden planting flowers or enjoying time with her grandchildren. She loved being a Granny and Mamaw. Her weekly sleepovers with Alexander were a consistent highlight to her life.

She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Kerstiens; daughter Kristie Carter (Ruben Ayala); daughter-in-law Linda Carter; grandchildren Mekayla Dodson; Dylan Carter & Alexander Ayala; sister Vicky Zdenek; nephews Elijah & Joshua Blaylock . 

She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Ray “KJ” Carter, Jr.  and father Karl Zdenek.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 from 12 Noon to 4 PM at the Community Life Center at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10612 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229.  Funeral Services will begin at 4 PM. Celebration of Life with Dinner being served to immediately follow at The Silver Centre Event Hall, 10202 E Washington St Suite 300, Indianapolis, IN 46229. 

Shuttle service every 30 minutes from Conrad to Community Life Center from 2:30PM – 4:00 PM. Shuttles to Celebration of Life Dinner starts after service from Community Life Center. Shuttles to hotel to begin at 6:00PM and depart every 30 minutes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to your local animal shelter.
