Tonya Denice Wilson, 61, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 26, 2024. She was born on December 29, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tonya dedicated 20 years of her life working as an airride builder for Bridgestone and Firestone, where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impact. However, beyond her career, Tonya's true joy stemmed from simple pleasures like watching TV comedy shows such as Mike & Molly and Everybody Loves Raymond.
Described as a kind, generous, and loving woman, Tonya always put others before herself. Her selfless nature shone through in every aspect of her life, as she was always willing to offer help and support to those in need. Known for her warm smile and compassionate heart, Tonya touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her leisure time, Tonya found solace in taking trips in the car with her husband, exploring new places and creating everlasting memories together. She particularly enjoyed the simple pleasure of a nap during those drives—a small indulgence that brought her immense joy. Tonya will always be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication her family. She adored her loved ones dearly, and her warm and caring nature created a sense of home wherever she went. Her kindness knew no bounds.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Cornelius Wilson; children, Summer Miller (Darren Murray Sr.), Michael Locke, Jr., and Carla Wilson; grandchildren, Kiara Miller, Daryia Murray, Ariyana Locke and Nevaeh Peppers; sister-in-law, Teresa (Cleveland) Lewis Jr., from Augusta, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Grady (Linda) Wilson from Indianapolis, Indiana, Terry (Beatrice) from Augusta, Georgia, Kenneth (Debbie) Wilson from Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy Wilson from Augusta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sellers.
Services for Tonya will be private.
