Tony Holmes Jr, 30, of Indianapolis, left this world too soon, on November 10th, 2021. He was born December 13th, 1990, in Indianapolis, to parents Tony Holmes and Danita Bell.
Tony grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Lawrence North high school, where he played for the school’s football team. He continued his education at Ball State University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2013. During his time at Ball State, Tony was a valued brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
During college, Tony met the love of his life, Tiara Thomas. They shared 10 wonderful years together and resided in Indianapolis.
Tony stated his purpose in life was “to put a smile on everyone’s face” and he succeeded. Tony was a loving, attentive gentleman with a huge heart. Even from an early age, he possessed a magnetic charm that drew people towards him. Always putting others before himself, Tony loved volunteering. He served as the coach for the Soaring Eagles football league for many years. Tony loved performing and listening to music of all genres. He was a talented cook, and in his spare time he enjoyed playing video games. Most of all, he cherished his time with Tiara and his loving family.
Tony is survived by his parents Tony Holmes Sr. and Danita Bell; his stepfather Eugene Bell; his sister Shaneka Holmes; his girlfriend Tiara Thomas; numerous aunts and uncles, and countless cousins; his paternal grandparents James and Carolyn Holmes; and his beloved dog Sasha Serena.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jimmy and Luevenia Harrington.
Tony’s visitation will be at the Flanner Buchanan Community Life Center Saturday, November 20th, 9am-12pm. His funeral service will begin at 12pm. Tony will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery following his service.
