Tommy Edward Brendle, 81, of Indianapolis passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on November 7, 1938.
He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business. After graduation, he served in the 1st Calvary 2nd Armored Division of the US Army. Tommy had a long career in business and finance, working at Arthur Andersen, Lane Bryant and Blue Cross Blue Shield. An entrepreneur at heart, he started many businesses with his wife Sharon, including clothing stores, hair/tanning salons, an accounting business, and a commercial cleaning business. Most recently, he was the Master Beekeeper of Brendle Honey Farm. Tommy was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sharon Ann Brendle; Children Cathie Lynn White (Craig), Michael Thomas Brendle (Dixie), Phillip Edward Brendle (Karen); Grandchildren Adam, Colton (Danielle), Michael (Ali), Morgan (Brandon), Steven, Nathan (Liz), Jason, and Great-grandchildren Emily, Evelyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents Karl Adam and Iva Lorene (Phillips) Brendle and his brother Phillip Brendle.
Services will be held privately by the family and are entrusted to Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
