Tom Alexander

Tom Alexander, 65 of Carmel, formerly of Huntington, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021.  Tom was born June 29, 1955 in Muncie, IN to the late Wilbur and Mary Ellen Alexander.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ann.  He was a graduate of Indiana University and earned his master’s degrees from Ball State University. Tom pursued an impactful 35-year career in the Huntington County Community Schools, teaching English at Crestview Middle School before entering administration as the assistant principal at Huntington North High School.  He later returned to serve as principal at Crestview; and also facilitated high school students working to earn diplomas through a credit recovery program before retiring.  Tom enjoyed coaching sports and also served with the Huntington County American Red Cross. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.  A private gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, January 28 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna; children, Craig (wife, Emily) Alexander and Marla (husband, Alan) Rosenwinkel; grandchildren, Hudson and Grant Alexander, Ann and Emilia Rosenwinkel.
