On Monday, January 6, 2020, Timothy Stanfill, loving husband and father, went to his heavenly home at the age of 75.
Tim was born on June 30, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to Lester and Dorothy (Evison) Stanfill. Tim was big brother to Elizabeth and Bill. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1962 where he played defensive tackle for the Rockets football team. Following high school, Tim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his nation for six years. After completing his military service, Tim attended Middle Tennessee State University for his undergraduate and graduate studies, while playing football for the Blue Raiders. Tim returned to Indianapolis and began a career in the automotive parts industry. On July 12, 1981, Tim married the love of his life Paula Palmer. They raised three daughters, Elisa, Lorine, and Sarah.
Tim was a quiet man who had a lot to say. Throughout his life, he enjoyed woodworking, a skill he learned from his father. He spent time creating various projects with each of his daughters. Most Sundays, you could find him watching football, but he was never a fan of a team, just a fan of the game. His home and his heart were open to all who needed him. After retirement, Tim spent most mornings bringing his wife breakfast in bed, spending his days caring for the home, and supporting his daughters in their school and recreational activities. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In his later years, one of Tim’s greatest joys was spending time with his grandson, Carson, and granddaughter, Carley. Above all, Tim was a family man who dedicated his life to loving his Lord, his wife, Paula, their three girls, and his two grandkids. We were blessed to have loved him.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Lester, his mother, Dorothy, and his brother, Bill. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Paula, his daughters Elisa Stanfill, Lorine (Anthony) Rose, and Sarah Stanfill, his grandchildren, Carson and Carley Rose, his sister, Elizabeth (Stanfill) Campbell, nieces and nephew, cousins, close friends, and all those he took under his wing.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church (8540 E. 16th Street) from 10 am to 12 pm immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 pm. Burial service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
