Timothy J. Hanrahan

Timothy J. Hanrahan, 72, Westfield, IN, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2017.  He was raised in Omaha, NE the son of the late Daniel Patrick and Regina (Dannehy) Hanrahan.

Tim “The Snake” Hanrahan is a member of the Creighton Prep Hall of Fame as part of the 1964 Nebraska state basketball championship team.

He married his high school sweetheart, Silvia Marks in Omaha, NE on June 4, 1966. They were a shining example of a devoted loving couple for 51+ years.

Timothy retired as executive vice-president of Meridian Mutual Insurance Company in Indianapolis. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Tim and Silvia spent their retirement years golfing, taking walks and traveling to spend time with their children’s families. They spent 10 wonderful years as snowbirds in Naples, FL where he enjoyed 3 holes in one and made many tremendous memories.

He was a man of great integrity, extremely funny, an avid golfer, a smart businessman, devoted to his family, and respected by all those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Silvia, he is survived by his four children, Tammy (John) Hendricks (Amber, Ashli, Taylor, Tiffany), Brian (Julie) Hanrahan (Tim, Casey, Patrick, Joseph), Katie (Matt) O’Connor (Luke, Ronan, Mary Kate, Charlotte), Dan (Jenny) Hanrahan (Bridget, James, Molly); and his sister, Catherine Hanrahan.  He was preceded in passing by his brother, Mike Hanrahan.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the church, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oakridge Road, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 and eulogies to begin at 10:30 a.m.
