Timothy Deane Shaffstall of Indianapolis was called home on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Tim was enveloped in the love of his family during his life and at the time of his passing. Born in Anderson, Indiana in 1951 to, Billie and Everett Shaffstall (preceded in death). Tim married the first love of his life, Cheri (Bright) Shaffstall in 1972 and during their marriage she gave him the second love of his life, their daughter, Nicole Shaffstall. Tim is survived by his wife Cheri and their daughter Nicole, three brothers, Tony (Jill) Shaffstall, Everett (Barbara) Shaffstall and Fred (Nancy) Shaffstall, five brothers-in-law, Stan, Mike, Dave, and Rick Bright, Bob and Mike Coverdale and their families, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Tim was a 1969 graduate of North Central High School and received his BA in Finance and Marketing in 1975 from the Kelly School of Business IUPUI with high honors. Besides loving his business life, two of his many passions were for St. Mary’s Child Center, and St. James the Apostle Church in Lepaterique, Honduras. St. Mary's Child Center, Tim provided past business solutions, was a Godfather to the children and was Director Emeritus on the Board. Tim was dedicated to the people of St. James the Apostle church in Lepaterique, Honduras.
St. James is the sister parish of St. Monica Catholic Church and a visiting fellowship more than a mission trip was established there in 2006. At the time of his passing, he was planning his sixth trip to be with his brothers and sisters in Honduras. Tim's passion for life was great and varied. He loved snow skiing, traveling, car racing, an occasional good cigar, exotic locations and adventures, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Tim was a patient and kind man, who always had a yearning to learn about others and help where he could.
“And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Ephesians 4:32

The Calling is Friday, March 24, 2017 from 5-9pm Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46228. The Funeral Mass is Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11am St. Monica Catholic Church, 6131 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46228.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Monica in honor of the Tim Shaffstall Legacy Fund.
