Robert Timothy Miller, 71 years old, passed away with his family by his side on the morning of April 13, 2025. He was born in Kettering, Ohio on February 3, 1954, to Margaret Jean and Robert Joseph Miller (both deceased). He was the middle of three sons, older brother Tom (Pam [deceased]; children Stephen, Rebecca, & Betsy), and younger brother Randy (Cathy; children Meaghan, Dylan, Heather, & Jeremy). Known by Tim to everyone, he was a driven, loving, hardworking man with a wicked sense of humor whose loss we feel profoundly. He was a devoted husband, first to Lisa Jean Miller (who passed in 2000) and then he found love again with Debra Patricia Miller. He was a present and loving father to Jessica (Daniel) Schuch, Jennifer (JJ) Smerdel, Samantha (Ethan; children Riley and Allie) Miles, Mary Des Jardines, and Ruth (Matt) Des Jardines.
Tim graduated from Indianapolis Northwest and remained local for most of his life. He continued his friendship with several schoolmates, and their times spent together brought him great joy and comfort throughout his life.
He was a business leader and an entrepreneur. He worked in the grocery business starting at a young age at entry level positions, gaining experience and new responsibilities quickly. He had passion and knowledge to successfully grow businesses. He worked for Cub Foods in many positions, finishing his time there as General Manager. When he moved on from Cub Foods he bought and operated his own grocery store, Western Supermarket, in Shelbyville, Indiana. He enjoyed that venture extensively, but chose to sell it when his first wife fell ill and needed him at home.
In his free time, he enjoyed many things. Growing up in Indianapolis he had fondness for the Indy 500 that he shared with Jess & Jenny as they grew up. He enjoyed all things about cars and had expert-level knowledge; this included owning multiple Corvettes throughout the years and restoring more than one vehicle. He enjoyed rebuilding four vehicles over his life: one truck, two blazers, and one suburban to their original glory. He would willingly go on a road trip with a friend to get just the right original part for the vehicle he was working on. He took these vehicles to multiple car shows and brought home multiple awards.
The legacy Tim built will live on through the knowledge, love, and memories of his family and friends. In honor of his wishes, there will be no services. However, if you have a memory of him, please share it with others so we can all remember him together.
