Thuy Beam

Thuy T. Beam, 54, of Avon passed away on Friday June 28, 2019. Thuy was born on August 1, 1964 in Vietnam to Bill and Lien Kellogg.

Thuy graduated from Jeffersonville High School in Jeffersonville, IN and continued her studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing on June 30, 1988 and began her lifelong work at Riley Hospital for Children soon thereafter.

While Thuy’s passion was nursing, she was also a devoted mother to three boys Allan, Cory and Tyler and her husband Mark of 29 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and being with friends.

Thuy was nationally known for her contributions in the field of pediatric rheumatology and was asked to work on projects with colleagues internationally. She was often sought out as a resource both locally and nationally for her knowledge about establishing programs for patients and families. Thuy oversaw many community programs for her patients and families, and in 2013 she was awarded the Patty Rettigg Award for Health Care Professional Leadership from the Arthritis Foundation.

She is survived by parents, Bill and Lien Kellogg of Indianapolis, husband Mark Beam of Avon, siblings Alisa and John Kellogg, and her three boys Allan, Cory, and Tyler. The visitation will be at Washington Park North Funeral Center (2706 Kessler Boulevard West Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46228) from 1:30 – 3:30pm with the service following.
