Thomas "Tom" J. Lagle

Thomas “Tom” J. Lagle, Sr. 62, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday April 13, 2019.

Tom was born June 11, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the Late Wallace and Nellie Whitlock Lagle. He was a great husband of 42 years to the beloved Vickey Lyn Carson Lagle. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, deer hunt, and camp out. He loved mushroom season and going to find them. He owned his own construction business in which he specialized in fire restoration. If you knew Tom, you knew you he was very picky and wanted to make sure anything with his name attached to it was A-1; and if you didn’t do it right be ready to tear it out and redo it until it was!

He also liked Thanksgiving and Christmas. He would make the biggest juicy turkeys and the best food from scratch. Everyone loved his mac and cheese and especially his pumpkin pies. Christmas he would always fill the biggest real trees with tons of presents for his wife, kids, and grandkids. He was known for trick packages, making Santa footprints on the floor out of flour, or jingling bells on the roof so they really thought Santa had been there. He also took his wife and kids on lots of vacations and made many wonderful memories with them. He was a very loving and caring man he didn’t like to see people do without and was always helping everyone. He had a heart of gold and was a generous man without a stingy bone in him.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vickey L. Lagle; daughter, Christy Lagle; parents: Wallace and Nellie Lagle; brothers: Randy, Edlee, Alan; and his sister, Reeda.

He survived by his girlfriend, Mary F Garner; children: Anita (Anthony), Monica (Bobby), Amy (Chris), Thomas Joe Lagle Jr, Justin (Kayla), and Brittany(Jeremy); grandkids: Bobby, Aaron (Marica), Dylan, Brian, Haley, Jordan, Brooklyn, Noah, Journee, and Gavyn; great-grandkids: Baylee, Adelyn, Carleigh, Harper, and Sophia; siblings: Ruthie, Joy, Timmy, Woodie, Louann, Jan, and Bruce; and a host of other family and friends

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the funeral home, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Tom will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery following services.
