Thomas Richard Campbell
63, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Thom, as he was commonly called, was born in St. Marys, OH on June 16, 1954 to his parents, William Richard Campbell and Betty (Sickles) Pellin. He served his country honorably in the US Army and was a member of the VFW Post 261. He worked in the wholesale flowers industry and retired from Marvin’s Flowers, after over 20 years of service. Thom was a very loving and generous man who will be fondly remembered for his kind spirit. He enjoyed music, karaoke, golfing, and NASCAR – especially Jeff Gordon. He was very talented musically, playing several musical instruments and once being a member of a bluegrass band.
Thom was preceded in death by his father, William and sister, Deborah Newsam.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cathy Sue (Day) Campbell; children: Nicole Gill (Mark), William Campbell (Cherie) and Shelley Graves; six grandchildren: Alexis Fitzgerald, Noah Fitzgerald, Haley Gill, Gracey Donoho, Michael Campbell and Breana Graves; brother, David Campbell (Carole); and brother-in-law, Michael Newsam.
Calling will be held from 4:30pm until 6pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, where funeral services will immediately follow at 6pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Thom’s memory to the VFW Post #261, 10550 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236.
