Thomas Roswell Heazeltine of Indianapolis died January 31, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 92.
Tom was born December 16, 1927 to the late Harold and Felicia Heazeltine in Terre Haute, IN. After a short stint in the seminary, Tom enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War.
He married Martha Ann Pictor on November 9, 1957.
He furthered his education and began his career in x-ray technology moving up through the years into management. He retired in 1989 after 32 years at Community Hospital in the radiology department.
A devout Catholic who loved everyone and knew no strangers, he was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for over 50 years. He loved to fish and was an accomplished musician played in several orchestras, including first trumpet in the Anthenaeum Turners Orchestra for many years.
He is survived by his wife Martha; children Paul (Ivy Williams) Heazeltine, Elaine Heazeltine, Greg Heazeltine, and Carol Heazeltine; grandchildren Jennifer Dixon and Melanie Eakman; and five great-grandchildren.
Tom was the caretaker of Martha in his later years while in assisted living He had a passion for watching his granddaughters dancing performances, and he showered his great grandchildren with affection.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 5 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th St, Indianapolis with visitation 10 AM until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Holy Spirit Faith Formation, 7243 E. 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
