Thomas Michael Quinn, 85 of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022. Mike was born February 12, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Thomas Michael Quinn, Sr., and Mary Snook Quinn.
Mike was a graduate of Cathedral High School, and a 1959 graduate of Indiana University, where he was a member and president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He went on to receive his JD from Columbia University in 1962. Mike entered the law practice of Quinn, Howard and Clark in 1963, founded in part by his father, Thomas Michael Quinn, Sr. Today the firm is known as Clark, Quinn, Moses, Scott & Grahn, where he served as partner.
Mike had a distinguished 53-year law career. He was a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Mike was co-founder and served as the 1st president of the Land Use section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. He presented some of the most influential and groundbreaking projects across the City of Indianapolis from large commercial developments to mixed-use developments, thus changing the landscape of a growing, thriving city.
Mike forged through substantial land use projects including being part of the Master Reuse Plan and Implementation Strategy for Fort Benjamin Harrison and many planned unit developments. This is in addition to the introduction of major national retail entities to the city of Indianapolis and representation of national clients throughout Indiana.
Mike was a member of the steering committee for ordinance revisions through the years and was on the committee to establish the city’s supplemental review process. He was the 2017 recipient of the Zeff Weiss Excellence in Real Estate Award.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 20 at 11:30 am at Holy Spirit at Geist, where family and friends are invited to gather from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
Mike is survived by his beloved son, Thomas Michael Quinn, III; sister, Jill Quinn (husband, Kent) Porter; niece, Katherine Ragusa; stepson, Kyle (wife, Sheiletha) Quinn; granddaughters, Kylie and Kinley Quinn.
