Thomas Victor McComb, 88, Noblesville, IN, passed away March 10, 2025. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on October 19, 1936, to John Hubert McComb and Margaret Edith (Ridley) McComb.
Tom was a graduate of Ft. Wayne’s North Side High School class of 1954. He attended Indiana University earning his B.S. in Business (’59) and McKinney School of Law, earning his JD (‘74). He was active in numerous civic affairs. He served as President of the Ft. Wayne Jaycees and was named Ft. Wayne’s Outstanding Young Man in the 1960’s by the Ft. Wayne Jaycees. He was a member of the NU Chapter of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity (Indiana University) and served as President of its national foundation for six years.
During Tom’s earlier years, he was a baritone soloist in several stage productions in Ft. Wayne as well as a soloist with the Indiana University Singing Hoosiers under the direction of Professor George Krueger and Scottish Rite Choir of the Valley of Ft. Wayne. He studied voice under the late Professor Fred G. Church in Ft. Wayne for many years.
Active in Republican politics in Ft. Wayne, he served as a precinct committee member and was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives from 1966 – 1970 and the Indiana Senate from 1970-1974. He served as Chairman of the Insurance Committee in both Houses of the legislature during the terms of Governors Edgar D. Whitcomb and Otis R. Bowen.
In 1972, he moved with his family to Indianapolis when he entered law school at the age of 35. Rather than practicing law, Tom used his legal education in his specialty insurance business, that catered to the professional liability aspects of architects and engineers in private practice. He was the founder and retired Chairman/CEO of Professional Design Insurance Management Corporation, Indianapolis, IN.
He and his wife, Norma resided in both Noblesville, IN and Siesta Key, FL. They are members of the Noblesville United Methodist Church and attended First United Methodist Church of Sarasota for many years when they wintered in Siesta Key.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Norma Jean (Born) McComb; children: Beth (Jeff) Clark of Nineveh, IN, Ken (Karen) McComb, Noblesville, IN, Susie Hurt (Jon Jones), Mooresville, IN and Stephanie McComb, Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Meghan Kath, Matt (Sarah) Clark, Maggie (Connor) LaGrange, Caylee (Jack) Lang, Abbi McComb, Jonathan (Lizzy) Hurt, Olivia (Jack) Speedy, Connor Hurt, and Hannah Hurt; and 11 great grandchildren: Kiersten, Caitlyn and Kara Kath, Royce, Levi, Annabelle, and Eva Clark, Taytum LaGrange, Easton Speedy, Paisley Hurt, and Peter Lang. Tom is also survived by his sister, Marilyn McComb Kahn of Ft. Wayne, IN, John (Alice) McComb of Ft. Wayne, IN, sister-in-law Melba Doster, Ft. Wayne, IN and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 19th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. Funeral service will begin there at 1:00 pm.
