Thomas H. Kincanon

May 4, 1940 — May 14, 2022

Indianapolis, IN

Thomas H. Kincanon, 82, of Fishers, passed away peacefully from ALS at his home surrounded by his loving family on May 14, 2022. He was born May 4, 1940. Tom graduated from Schurz High School in 1959 and went on to Wright Jr. College for two years. Tom later graduated from North Park University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree.

On August 31, 1963, he married the love of his life, Carol Crawford. They were married for nearly 59 years.

He worked for EIS (Electrical Insulation Suppliers) of Atlanta, Georgia, a family-owned business. They acquired Complete Reading and were eventually bought out by Genuine Parts. He retired after a total of 27 years of service.

He was voted the best dresser in High School and his passion to dress well continued all of his life. He loved buying clothes. He definitely had a knack to dress in style. He was also very handy and took pride in updating his homes with projects of one kind or another and decorating. About 10 years ago spending winters in the land of sunshine (Florida) was a dream come true in retirement and entertaining family and friends. He also loved Corvettes. His first Corvette was a 1957 fuel injection with two tops, hard and soft; he wished he would have kept it because the value really went up. His second one was a 1976 red Corvette convertible and his third a 1986 red Corvette convertible. He was invited by a Corvette Club to join the group and was planning on doing so when he came back from Florida in Spring, but God had other plans for him.

He was a loving and devoted husband. He loved his children dearly and adored and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Grover H. and Florence C. (Brozek) Kincanon; brother, Robert Kincanon; granddaughter, Jessica Howard; and stepmother, Myrtle (Fite, Snearly) Kincanon.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children: Sheri (Jerry) Mosley, Deborah (Arthur) Johnson, and Brian (Christine) Kincanon; grandchildren: Shelby (Aaron) Scott, Madison, Zachary and Mallory Mosley, Eric and Luke Johnson, and Ashley and Logan Kincanon; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren: Kendall, Karter, Sutton and Aria, and a fifth on the way;  brother, Donald (Adrenna) Kincanon; sister, Patricia (Larson) Logan;  step-sisters: Kay (Richard) Auten, Marlene (Neil) Wiley; step-brother, Russ (Sandy) Snearly; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, August 20 from 11 AM – 12 PM at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis.  Memorial Services will begin at 12 PM.  Following his service, a Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 2-6 PM at Ironwood Country Club, 10955 Fall Road, Fishers.
