Thomas Lee Bray

Thomas L. Bray of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 82 years old. He was born on April 7, 1942, right here in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ernest L. and Jeannette M. (Rains) Bray. Thomas was a Police Officer for the Indianapolis Police Department for 35 ½ years retiring as a Detective in 1999. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Clermont Lions Club. Thomas enjoyed many things in his life, fishing, boating, camping, most outdoor activities, music, and dancing. He was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan as well as enjoying NASCAR racing. Thomas was a proud American and was very patriotic. He loved going to Florida and was a member of the Barefoot Bay Community in Micco, Florida. His family said he never knew a stranger and forged many long-lasting friendships over the years, He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Thomas was survived by his children, Kim Thompson, son in law Danny Thompson, Ernest Bray, Paula Brashear, Tracy Daly, his grandchildren, Jeff Roberts, Brian Lee Spears, Kerstan Sexton, Brooke Hill, Blake Eastes, Brandon Hill, Shyanne Bishop, his 7 great grandchildren, his step grandchildren, his step great grandchildren, and his brother, Ron “Butch” Bray. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie M. Bray, his daughter, Carol Spears, and his brother, Jim Bray. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 10:00am-2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at the Fairfield Friends Cemetery in Camby, Indiana. The family request that those visiting at the funeral home feel free to dress very casual as Thomas would want it no other way.
