Thomas Allen Beechler

Thomas Allen Beechler, (61), passed away on June 5, 2022 at his home in Lawrence, IN. He was the husband of Chris Beechler. They shared 40 years of marriage together. Born in Sandusky, OH and raised in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Ron and Sue Beechler.

Tom is survived by his wife; Chris Beechler (Connelly); his sons, Brent Beechler (Krista) and Brian Beechler (Veronica Sandoval) his grandchildren, Brayden, Mackenzie, and Brooke Beechler; his brothers, David Beechler (Tammy) and Bruce Beechler (Terry) and his father, Ron Beechler (Frieda) many nieces and nephews and best friend Lee Harmon (Debbie). Tom was proceeded in death by his mother, Sue Beechler.

Tom attended primary school in Indianapolis and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Kelley School of Business, Indiana University at IUPUI. He spent much of his career working for the City of Indianapolis as a Township Administrator reporting directly to the Mayor of Indianapolis. He served the community that he lived in, Lawrence Township. In this role, he was involved in city planning and development, and was passionate about wildlife conservation.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman. From the time he was young he loved to spend his time in nature, exploring and learning. He enjoyed studying the plants and animals that he encountered, and always embraced the opportunity to teach others. He spent many hours bird watching and could name every type that ate from his prized birdfeeders. He loved being on the water, and his favorite hobby was fishing. He took many trips around the country to fish with his friends and family.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family above all else, and always tried to tie in his love for the outdoors. His best times were spent walking the beach with his wife, boating, and fishing with his sons, camping with his entire family, and introducing his grandchildren to all of the things he loved in nature. He will live on through the memories of the many who were fortunate to be his family and friends.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis 46250.  Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 10^th beginning at 2 p.m. at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis 46226, with additional calling from 1:30 p.m. until Mass time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated in Tom’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
