Thomas A. Gallagher, Jr., 80, Carmel, passed away January 24, 2019. He was born February 18, 1938, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Thomas A. Sr. and Alta (Sherman) Gallagher. He married Barbara A. Day on March 16, 1963.
Tom was a 1956 graduate of Cathedral High School and continued his education at Purdue University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management (currently Krannert School of Management).
Tom was the President of Teeling & Gallagher, Inc., a successful Midwest Manufacturing Representative firm, for 48 years. Tom had a passion for collecting cars. He loved his dogs and cats. He spent part of his retirement in Long Boat Key, Florida. He was a proud Irishman who valued his work and loved traveling on cruises with his wife.
He was previously a member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church when he moved to The Barrington of Carmel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Gallagher; three sons, Thomas III (Beth) Gallagher, Bob (Johanna) Gallagher, and John (Heather) Gallagher; and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Taylor, Thomas IV, Trent, Trevor, Nicholas, Phoebe, and Griffin.
The Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service (11:00) at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.
