Theresa Kelline Rettig

Theresa Kelline (Curran) Rettig, born on April 28, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Philip and Virginia Curran (Taylor), passed away on March 5, 2018 surrounded by the “man of her dreams,” her three daughters, her baby sister and her best friend of 40 years. Theresa was the devoted partner to the love of her life, David Kouns. If you were to have asked her, she would have said her greatest accomplishments were her four beautiful daughters.  You would not encounter another human as selfless as Theresa; her service to others extended to anyone she met, from the very first moment, through the hardest of times.  When she wasn’t taking care of someone else, you could find her in the barn, mucking stalls and brushing her horses; or tending to her beautiful, abundance of flowers.  Being outdoors was her passion.  Lessons she would love to pass along through her life experiences: Everyone is family – have grace for them, especially in the most trying times, work hard, love hard, embrace life, dance to the music, “add to cart,” and raise a glass (for all occasions) because everything is worth celebrating.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia; father, Philip Curran; daughter, Allison; brother, Johnathon; sister, Mary Martina; and grandchild, Owen. Theresa is survived by her father Phillip; daughters, Amanda (Dennis), Erin (Tyler), Hannah (Zach); step-children, Beth (Nic), and Bob (Nicole); brother, Sean (Lisa); sister, Tracy; grandchildren, Zach, Gabby, Corrina, Anthony, Amber, Christopher, Aiden, Colin, Jeremiah, Julian, Koressa, Hayley, Damion, Ethan, Caden, Kemmy, John David, Wynifred, Gertrude and Baby Worman; and great-grandchildren, Cadence, Kyland, and Baby Harris. She also leaves behind her cat, Sally; dog, Olive; and horses, Ginny-Mae and Jessie.

Please join us in Theresa’s Celebration of Life 11:00am, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, there will be visitation from 4:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following services.

In lieu of flower arrangements, donations in Theresa’s memory can be made to the National Brain Tumor Society (directed to Defeat GBM: Research Collaborative), or something to add to her garden, are welcome and appreciated.
